IMEI-CONTROL · Respond in the network

IMEI blocking and control, by device serial number and by type-approved model

Answers an operator question: which devices may operate on the network.

What it is

IMEI blocking and control

The module applies device lists by IMEI (device serial number) and by type-approved model, in accordance with regulator orders. Every network check receives a response: allowed, observed or blocked.

How it works

How it operates in the network

  1. The network queries

The switch sends the IMEI on the events it has configured for checking.

  2. Sx-EIR applies

The core applies to the IMEI the rule the operator sets, with the current national and international lists.

  3. Sx-EIR records

Every response is recorded and available for audit and reporting.

Evidence

What supports it

IMEI check acceptance test protocol, with data integrity tests on calls and messages.

It relies on the same Sx-EIR core, with acceptance test protocols signed by both parties.

Scope

What is included and what is not

Included

  • Lists by IMEI and by type-approved model
  • National and international list sources
  • Record of every transaction

Not included

  • Device location
  • Restriction of a repeated IMEI without verifying the holder: legitimate holder protection belongs to the IMEI–IMSI–MSISDN link
How it starts

Added according to the project scope

The diagnostic confirms the sources and interfaces the module requires in the operator's network.

Next step

Data is processed on the infrastructure the operator designates, under its control.

ATC reviews the platform the operator prioritizes and proposes the appropriate configuration. Sizing and review are provided at no cost.

  • Review of the platform and the network interfaces
  • Sizing according to the operator's infrastructure
  • Staged proposal: module, platform or delegated operation
